Acts 8:30-31 Modern English Version
30 Then Philip ran to him, and heard him read the book of Isaiah the prophet, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”
31 He said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
The biggest reason why many Christians do not read their bibles is that they often struggle to understand what they are reading. As a result, they fail to experience the joy and excitement that comes with studying the Word of God. However, with the right skills and knowledge, one can learn to rightly interpret the Bible and transform their reading time into a pure delight.
Your experience can be like that of the Prophet Jeremiah "Thy words were found, and I ate them; and Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart" (Jeremiah 15:16)
